Description
Heeng (Asafoetida) is a pungent, aromatic gum-resin extracted from the taproot of giant fennel plants (Ferula species). Often called the “Soul of Indian Tadka,” it adds a Savory, Umami flavor (resembling sautéed onions and garlic) to Vegetarian Curries, Lentils, & Pickles.
